Digital Measurement and Scanning
In traditional dentistry, impressions of teeth and jaws are taken using plasticine inside metal trays for procedures such as dentures, crowns, and fillings. This method can trigger a gag reflex in patients and may not always yield accurate results. In digital dentistry , teeth are scanned with an optical camera and transferred to a computer in 3D, creating a 3D scan.
- The patient is compliant.
- The margin of measurement error is lower than traditional methods.
- All cases are archived.
- Three-dimensional scanning has begun to be used in many branches of dentistry.
